Thursday 4th June 2009 - The Royal Pier Hotel catches fire

The blaze started around 6pm

When we arrived at 7.30pm most of the roof had gone

The Police were keeping people back

The Fire Crews tackled the fire from the ground and above

Also from the other side of the building

Fire Crews continue to tackle the blaze

You can still see timbers alight inside

Lots of white smoke coming from the roof space

As the sun begins to set the Fire Crews work on into the night

The guttering falls and black water runs down the side of the building from the burnt structure

The Crews took 16 hours to put out the fire

Saturday morning in the rain

The roof is gone

We wonder what will happen now?
